Pietà, the documentary theater performance by director Martha Bouziuris, which was touched and praised by audiences and critics at the beginning of this year’s theater season, returns with a new cycle of performances that begins on April 5th at the Contemporary Theater. Pietà was created with the valuable input of a team of artists exclusively female actors and creative contributors. He had as inspiration and her guide five mothers who experienced the greatest loss, the murder of their child: Koula Armoutidou (mother of Eleni Topaloudi), Eleni Kremastioti (mother of Eratos Manolakellis), Katerina Koti (mother of Doras Zacharias), Alexandra Makou ( Mother). by Gaarifalia Psarrakou) and Roza Fotiadou (Sofia Savvidou’s mother). The text of the show was based on the mothers’ real stories, but also on the actors’ experiences.

Through the sharp yet calming language of theater, the performance Pietà attempts to transform the stage into a place of mutual care, assertion and public remembrance. On the stage of the Contemporary Theater we witness a deeply eventful theater performance that bravely and sensitively balances the political and the human and pays tribute to the victims of femicide and all women out there.
