The award-winning work Photograph51 “comes” to the Art Theater from November 28th

Anna Ziegler’s multi-award winning play comes to Greece for the first time after its triumph in London’s West End (first actress award for Nicole Kidman) to tell the true story of Anna Ziegler Rosalind Franklinof the researcher, the May 1952 was the first to capture human DNA in a photograph, paving the way for the impressive medical discoveries, medicines, treatments and vaccines that are now part of our daily lives.

All of Rosalind’s employees became famous, won Nobel Prizes and are now benchmarks in scientific research. But not Rosalind. Maybe because he didn’t make it. Maybe because she was never interested in fame herself. Maybe because she was a woman.

An extremely political but at the same time particularly sensitive work about her social responsibility of modern science, about a woman’s struggle to find an equal place in a male-dominated community, about the scientist’s devotion to a larger vision that can even justify his self-sacrifice for the sake of common progress, and finally about the authenticity of the character and the Search for meaning in creation and what is offered. A historical person and a true story to ponder, analyze and further discuss. Photograph51 was first presented at the lectern at the STAGE International Script Competition in 2008, where it won 1st prize, in 2010 it premiered in New York, receiving excellent reviews and numerous awards, and in 2015 it was transferred to the Noel Coward Theater in London, giving Nicole gave Kidman the opportunity to portray Franklin and received many important awards for the first female role.

In Greece, it will be premiered every Monday and Tuesday at 9:00 p.m. in the historic basement of the Karolos Koun Art Theater from November 28th to April 4th, 2023 (40 performances).

On the occasion of the performance and in collaboration with the Art Theater, Eurasia Publications and the Society of Oncological Pathologists of Greek, a two-day conference entitled “THE SECRET OF LIFE” will be organized on December 19 and 20, 2022.
